The 14-Day Rule Is Not Flexible

What We Actually Treat

Thoracic involvement is common especially when the seatbelt restrained the body. Lumbar disc stress from the sudden compressive loading happens more often than people expect even in low-speed impacts.
We also see shoulder injuries from the seatbelt mechanism and from bracing against the steering wheel. Those present differently than rotator cuff overuse injuries and we assess for them specifically in every accident patient.
