Where Can I Get Webster-Style Prenatal Chiropractic in Jacksonville?

At Full Swing Healthcare we use a sacropelvic technique during pregnancy that follows the principles of the Webster protocol. Dr. Muren is not ICPA Webster Certified, so we do not advertise the technique by its certified name, but the approach, assessing and correcting sacral restriction and releasing uterine ligament tension, is the same and produces the same clinical outcomes for our patients.

What the Sacropelvic Approach Is

The Webster protocol, developed by Dr. Larry Webster and promoted by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, involves analysis of the sacrum and sacroiliac joints alongside specific soft tissue release of the round and broad ligaments of the uterus. The goal is to reduce asymmetric tension in the uterine environment that may be contributing to maternal discomfort or limiting optimal fetal positioning.

It is not a baby-turning procedure. Chiropractors do not manually reposition babies. The technique works by creating a more balanced intrauterine environment through pelvic correction. Whether the baby moves into optimal positioning is dependent on factors beyond the pelvis.

Why Pregnant Patients Seek It Out

Round ligament pain, SI joint pain, pubic symphysis dysfunction, and sacral pain are among the most common pregnancy complaints we treat. The technique addresses all of these as part of the same sacropelvic assessment and correction. Patients often come to us with one of these specific complaints and find that the work addresses them together rather than requiring separate treatments for each issue.

Throughout All Three Trimesters

We modify positioning and technique at each stage of pregnancy. First trimester patients are treated in the standard positions with some modifications. Second and third trimester patients are treated in side-lying, seated, or drop-table positions that accommodate the growing abdomen. Treatment is adapted to comfort and safety at every visit.
