Where Can I Get Dry Needling for Back Pain in Jacksonville?

Yes, and it is one of the most consistently effective things we do for low back pain at Full Swing Healthcare. Dry needling reaches the deep paraspinal trigger points that are usually driving the pain, and it does it in a way that stretching, massage, and even chiropractic adjustment cannot match on their own.

What We Actually Find in the Back

Most patients who come in with chronic low back pain have the same story. They have tried stretching. They have seen a massage therapist. Sometimes they have had chiropractic care elsewhere. The pain improves briefly and comes back. What they have not had is someone address the deep lumbar multifidus and paraspinal trigger points that are keeping the whole system locked up.

Those muscles sit too deep for external pressure to reach effectively. A foam roller does almost nothing to them. Even skilled manual therapy can only compress the surface tissue before losing access to what is underneath. The needle gets there directly.

What Happened with One of Our Patients

A teacher from the Baymeadows area came to us after eight months of lower back pain. She had been doing physical therapy for six of those months with partial improvement. Her therapist had her strengthening her core and doing hip mobility work, which was the right approach. But there was a cluster of trigger points in her right lumbar multifidus that had been there so long they had essentially become her new baseline. Three dry needling sessions cleared that pattern. The PT work she had already done meant she recovered quickly once the trigger points released.

That combination, dry needling to clear the myofascial restriction and strengthening to prevent it from reforming, is usually the most efficient path.

How We Approach It

Dr. Muren palpates the lumbar and thoracolumbar region before placing a single needle. The trigger point map changes between visits. What is active today may not be the same as what was active two weeks ago, especially as the pattern begins to resolve. We reassess every session.

When e-stim is applied through the needle, it produces a sustained contraction and release that goes deeper than the mechanical needle placement alone. For chronic presentations, we use it regularly.
