Does Insurance Cover Chiropractic Care in Florida?
Yes, and Florida has some of the better chiropractic coverage of any state. Most major commercial carriers cover it, Florida Medicaid covers it, and VA Community Care covers it. The specifics vary by plan, but most of our patients have some chiropractic benefit.
What We Accept at Full Swing Healthcare
We are in-network with Florida Blue, United Healthcare, Humana, Cigna, Florida Medicaid, and the VA Community Care Network. When you call us, we verify your benefits directly with your carrier before your first visit. We tell you your copay, your deductible status, and how many visits your plan covers per year. That conversation happens before you walk in the door, not after your first appointment.
PIP Is Different From Health Insurance
If you were in a car accident, Florida's PIP law requires every registered vehicle to carry at least $10,000 in personal injury protection coverage that includes chiropractic care as a covered medical expense. PIP is separate from your health insurance and does not require deductibles in the traditional sense. The catch is the 14-day window from the accident date, which must be met to activate PIP benefits.
When Coverage Runs Out
Most plans limit chiropractic visits to somewhere between 20 and 40 per year, though this varies significantly. When coverage is exhausted, self-pay rates apply. We charge $115 for an initial visit and $50 for standard follow-ups. We accept HSA and FSA cards, which most patients use when their covered visits are done for the year.
